Written Test for Recruitment to the post of Upper Division Clerk 2022
INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES
Date Exam : 23.07.2023 (Sunday) Time : 10.00 A.M. To 12.00 Noon
- Question paper will be of Degree standard of objective type consisting of single part in Forenoon session with a duration of 2 hours having 100 questions carrying one mark each
from General Mathematics, General Science, General English, Indian History and Geography, Indian Economics, Constitution of India, General Knowledge and Current
Affairs. Negative mark of 0.25 will be awarded for every wrong answer. - Multiple answers will be treated as a wrong answer. Questions and Options are given bilingually. Yet, Questions and Options in the English version alone will be taken as authentic in case of dispute.
- The candidate should check the Hall Ticket and in case of any discrepancy should immediately report the same to the Control Room of Exam Cell, Chief Secretariat, Puducherry, which will
function from 12.07.2023 to 21.07.2023 from 8.45 a.m. to 5.45 p.m., on 22.07.2023 from 09.00 a.m. to 06.00 p.m. and on 23.07.2023 from 8.00 a.m. onwards till the end of exam.
Control Room Phone No.: 0413 – 2233338 - After downloading the Hall Ticket from the website which carries your scanned signature and photograph on the left side, affix your signature and paste your passport size photograph in
the space provided on the right side. - The candidates shall be permitted to appear in the exam only at the venue as specified in the Hall Ticket. Hence they are advised to familiarise with the location of the exam
venue well in advance. Entry to the Examination Hall will be permitted only on production of Hall Ticket. - The candidate should bring along with the Hall Ticket any one of the valid original I.D proof (Aadhar/Voter ID/ Driving licence/Passport/PAN etc.) issued by Central/State Government for verification.
- Only the candidates will be permitted to enter the exam venue.
- No crowding near the Exam Halls shall be permitted. Candidates have to disperse as soon as they come out of Exam Hall. Loitering is prohibited in front of the Exam Venue and nearby premises.
- The candidate is permitted to reach the venue 8.30 A.M onwards but he/she will be permitted to enter the Exam Hall only at 9.30 A.M.
- The main gate of the exam venue will be closed at 10.00 a.m on commencement of exam. The candidates are advised to reach the venue well in advance. The candidate will not be allowed to enter the exam venue after the commencement of the examination at 10.00 a.m.
- The candidate shall take his/her seat in the examination hall between 9.30 A.M and 10.00 A.M for receiving detailed instructions. No candidate will be allowed to enter the Exam Hall after the commencement of the Examination.
- Candidate is allowed to bring only Hall Ticket, Original I.D. Proof and Black Ball Point Pen into the examination hall. Candidates are advised not to bring bags, mobile phones and
other prohibited items into the exam venue. In case they bring any such item, they would have to make their own arrangement for safe custody of any such item. The Department will not be liable to make any arrangement for the safe custody of any such items. - The candidates shall have to undergo the process of Frisking before entry into the Examination Hall.
- The candidates must strictly abide by the instructions given by the Exam Functionaries (Centre Supervisor / Invigilator).
- Candidates should ensure that they do not indulge in any unfair means and shall also not talk to each other after commencement of the exam and during its entire duration.
- If any candidate is found obstructing the conduct of the examination or creating disturbances at the examination venue, his/her candidature shall be summarily cancelled and legal / criminal proceedings will be initiated against them.
- No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall till the completion of the examination at 12.00 noon.
- Strict silence and discipline should be maintained in the Exam Hall.
- The candidate should produce the Hall Ticket and Original I.D. Proof to the Invigilator, on demand, for verification.
- After getting the Answer coding sheet, the candidate should check that it is properly printed and that it has a number assigned. If the answer coding sheet is defective in any way, the candidate should ask the Invigilator to replace it.
- Candidate should ensure that the Roll Number assigned in the Hall Ticket is correctly filled in the Answer Coding Sheet.
- The Question Booklet issued should be verified and any request for replacement in case of any defect in it should be made immediately. The Question Booklet has a Series which has to
be properly marked in the Answer Coding Sheet. - In the Answer Coding Sheet, the candidate should write his / her Name, affix his/her signature, write and shade the Roll Number and Question Booklet Series, in the space
provided. The Invigilator will also affix his signature in the appropriate space in the Answer Coding Sheet. - Candidate should also note that improper or wrong shading of the Roll No. and Question Booklet Series in the Answer Coding Sheet will lead to rejection of scanning by OMR.
Therefore, candidate should be very cautious while shading the answer coding sheet and avoid wrong and improper shading. - The examination consists of objective type questions and the candidate is required to shade the correct answer in the space provided in the answer sheet with Black ball point pen only
- Each correct answer will fetch 1 mark for the candidate and for every wrong answer0.25 mark will be deducted from his/ her total marks. Multiple shading will be treated as a wrong answer.
- As Erasing or correction is not possible while using ballpoint pen, due care may be taken while shading the appropriate space.
- The Answer Coding Sheet consists of two sheets of different colours. The Answer Coding Sheet is to be shaded by the candidate and after the completion of the examination, the Answer
Coding Sheet should be handed over to the Invigilator. The Invigilator will detach the shaded first sheet and retain the same with him and the second sheet having the impression of the
shading will be returned to the candidate. - After Invigilator collects all answer scripts from all candidates, they have to leave in an orderly manner.
- Candidates are permitted to take back the Question Booklet, Copy of the Answer Coding Sheet and the Hall Ticket after completion of the examination.
- Request from candidate for furnishing the cause of their failure in the test or for revaluation of their Answer sheets will not be entertained.
- Candidate who resorts to malpractice of any kind will immediately be sent out of the Examination Hall and liable to be debarred from future examinations also.
- The selection will be based on the marks obtained in this Written Test.
- Candidates are PROVISIONALLY admitted to the examination based on their qualification and statements in their applications with regard to their Age, Educational qualifications, Residence, Community, Nativity, Category, etc. If at any stage, it is found that a candidate does not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions, his/her candidature shall be cancelled.
- As the selected candidates have to furnish the Original Hall-Ticket for verification along with their Original Certificates, candidates should keep their Hall-Tickets safely for
